Italian Women to Conquer Malaysian Greens

Italian women in advanture, or Donnavventura, has set foot in Malaysia for the first time to embark on a grueling summer of offroad madness. Madness is because they will be taking their Mitsubishi Tritons scrubbing our tropical rainforests within 100 days, without any constant contact with their loved ones and comfortable beds. All six lasses come from all around Italy where each of them possesses the right mix of brains, brawns and beauty.

The Donnavventura’s ready to rumble!

The Donnavventura, a reality TV show in Italy is already in its 19th year of production, longer than the renowned Survivor and Fear Factor TV show series. From a total of almost 42,000 beautiful women that took part only 12 of them are selected, but only 6 will be doing the actual offroading. The remaining 6 girls are reserves in case one of them could not continue going on. The girls will be traveling around South East Asian countries, starting and completing the course in Kuala Lumpur. The overland expedition was flagged off at a small press conference at 1Utama shopping centre, last Thursday.

Being lucky again, I had the opportunity to interview all 6 of them at one of the Mitsubishi showroom in Bangsar the day before. Details of the interview can be read HERE.

I expected difficulties in communicating with them in English but I was wrong. It wasn’t that hard to get my questions to them. Each of the girls managed to provide more than the information that I expected. :P It was an exhilarating experience as it was my first time interviewing the ‘celebrities’ from Italy. My knees went weak before the interview but it went off as we got more chatty into the conversations.

Mitsubishi Triton: The machine to battle with nature.

More on their machines. The Tritons were still ‘virgin’ except for the additional tire rack located on the roof. The body of the Triton was painted red, accessoried with stickers of sponsors and the big Visit Malaysia 2007 sticker located on the front hood. The trucks were also fitted with GPS systems for navigating the jungles. Other than these, the whole truck is basically in their standard configurations. So if any of you spotted the trucks, dont forget to wave at them to show your support at their endeavors.

We can’t wait to take on the (off) road!

Now that it rains in the evenings, I wish them buona fortuna (good luck in Italian)!
