Though this post is not motoring related but this story would be the shock of the nation. Not much of a shock looking at the age of his passing, Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong was 90 years old and have seen the days since his first arrival from China’s Fujian province. He passed away today at 11.20 am at Subang Jaya Medical Centre due to unknown causes.

I would presume due to old age. Most Malaysian men dont live up to age 80, on the average. But he is one lucky man to be able to enjoy his riches while he was still young.

He has been my ongoing inspiration for all his successes throughout the building of the Genting empire. The inspiration of not the wealth kind but the determination that he possess from his humble beginnings.

From a total immigrant back in the early 60s with just a mere RM700 in his pocket, he had a vision to build a hotel for the Englishmen to have retreats atop the hills of Pahang. Hence, Genting was born and has been the household name in gaming, recreation and entertainment.

His second son, Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay was succeeded in 2003 as Genting group chairman. The late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong is listed in Forbes as one of the top tycoons in Malaysia.

As a tribute to the great leader of Malaysia, I would like to express my heartfelt condolence to the family of the late Tan Sri. May his soul rest in peace.

Ahh, its the time of the year again where I look forward to have peace of mind in the city. Yes, peace and serenity in the city of Kuala Lumpur when everyone returns to their respective hometowns to celebrate Hari Raya. The city will now slowly turn into a ghostly cowboy town.

Lets remain this way rather than a pile of twisted metal and (body)parts.
