Proton Saga sales reaching 10,000 units, and still growing

Since the launch of the new Proton Saga 2 weeks ago, sales have been brisk and is reaching the 5-figure mark. Currently, the total number of bookings are at 9,063 units in just 4 weeks. Bookings for the new Saga was open for 2 weeks before the launch date.

The determining factor in boosting Proton’s earnings?

According to Edaran Otomobil Nasional (EON) MD Datuk Syed Hisham Syed Wazir, “Our success has been driven by our new sales approach in which a closer customer rapport is established, and confidence for EON and Proton cars is underscored,” he said in a statement Wednesday.

This I presume would be the public display of how the Saga was built step-by-step that was shown at the grounds of Mutiara Damansara at the Curve, a countdown to the official launch date. A very innovative approach towards winning back the trust of the public towards the diminished quality of Proton cars.

Syed Hisham said from the relationship marketing, the company has been able to conduct test drives for over 300 potential customers at its recent weekend “EON Karnival 2008″ which saw a 4,000-strong crowd.

The company’s sales network comprises 40 sales branches and 66 sales dealers nationwide.

Apparently, those who have booked for the Saga will have to wait up to 4 months, based on word of mouth. Maybe the Medium-line would take longer time compared to the Base and N-lines.

I wonder how are the sales of Myvis and Vivas are doing… hmmm :P
