100% carbon fiber rims, anyone?
Everything is getting light these days. Particularly in the motorsports arena where everybody wants to be the fastest in the track, for the ultimate ego-booster of their lives. To achieve that, the driver and his machine should ideally be of the ideal weight.

No, its not made of alloy
Carbon fibre (CF) has been the forerunner in giving these stakeholders lightweight solutions be it in body parts or shells. I know about CF car bonnets, mufflers, stabilizer bars and GT wings. But not the latest, or probably the craziest idea of rims that are made of CF too!
It would be unbelievable for such a creation to exist because rims are where the most extreme impact are suffered for any cars. It would be the highest level (so far) to apply CF on wheels, proving its durability minus the weight in this day and age.

Handsomely crafted
But, the thought is not too far a future as a bunch of science people are coming up with a one-piece 100% CF wheels for the mass market. Yes, these guys are putting the their knowledge together to produce ultra lightweight rims that fully uses carbon fiber nanotube aerospace nanotechnolog.

These are not made from Tamiya!
Whats the damage to own a set of CF rims? Well, I know a Mitsubishi Evo 5 CF bonnet costs around RM4,000 - RM5,000, so what would you expect for the tougher CF rims .. ?
