I would like to feature a little bit of my craze in the Volkswagen vans called the Type 2/Combi/Transporter. We used to see these vans in pasar malams or grocery shops back in the early 60s, and dont be surprise to see one all souped-up with a flowery theme next to your car when you drive around PJ!

A 1966 “split-screen” Samba is the oldest, as a wedding car in this picture

The split screens are rare gems and it is very difficult to find one. Even if you found it, the owner wouldnt be selling it no matter what the price you offer. Fortunately, I got to ride on one with a Subaru engine fitted in it and a flowery paintjob all round. Anyway, good luck in the search!

Wow! what a sweet van…full of the retro VW flavor. I have never seen a real VW van like this one in real life…never came across. So really appreciate you putting up this photo for all to share.
It certainly looks a great example. Having seen one at a recent wedding I think they make great wedding car vehicles – it certainly gave guests a smile or two! Do you know if it is a UK company?
Hi, I’m looking for a similar VW van above for rent. Would you be able to help me? Is there anyone you know who owns one and wouldn’t mind renting? Thank you.
