Up to 50% discount for traffic summonses
PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) is offering discounts up to 50% for road offences by motorists from now onwards, through its online partner MyEG. Traffic summonses issued either by post or on-the-spot by the police can be paid online from the comfort of your own home.
Defaulters are required to provide their I.C. number and vehicle registration number to check the summonses received in the MyEG portal.
MyEG has classified 2 types of notices on the summons issued to the offender – Type 1 and Type 2.
Type 1 are notices issued and posted for offences such as illegal parking, or captured by an automated device (like the camera), and as for Type 2, notices are issued to offenders directly by the police personnel.
For all Type 2 notices, there will be a 50% discount for summons paid within or by the compound date, and 30% off for those who pay after the given compound period or before the date of appearing in court. No appeals will be entertained if paid after or on court date, though.
However, all Type 1 notices will enjoy 30% discount, automatically.
There will be no appeal allowed for traffic defaulters who are served summonses via the following:
- During Ops Sikap (usually during festive seasons
- On traffic light offences (like beating the red light, etc)
- Accident cases
- Issuance of warrant of arrests

Unfortunately, I will be few hundred ringgit poorer now that I have checked that there are summonses to pay – all of which are mostly traffic obstruction offences.

Last Year I have Enter the No Entry way and been caught then get a
ticket for entering the 1 way.. After that My Previous Manager (Security manager) who works also realted with Police as the F.R.U.
That time I was Help him to get his laptop from the office and bring to his work station bcoz that time he want to station at other workplace.. That time I’ve been caught already.. I tell him bout this matter and he said he’ll help me to get discount or reduce abit.. he take my saman bill and 30 ringgit and said he’ll sattle for me.. That time I tought It will be ok already but until now, when I want to renew my Road Tax, they block already.. I’ve pay the Insurance and Road tax but when they check they said got saman and cannot take the Road Tax Yet.. have to sattle the saman 1st.. Then I go and check, only I know that the saman never been sattle yet and rite now became 300Ringgit already.. Can I do the Appeal letter or meet someone (exmpl : Insp, Cheif Insp,) to get discount for my Saman?
