Back to the Future with the DeLorean – It's HERE!

I can’t believe it has been resurrected! The cool car that I so admire when I was 5 is now back from the past! :O

Jay Leno the American version of Jeremy Clarkson of TopGear UK takes on a spin with the brand new DeLorean car from the 80s. Yep, the car that was feature in the then futuristic sci-fi, Back to the Future 1,2 and 3 is now being rebuilt and reinforced to die-hard fans of the car and is available for a limited time.

I was a fan of the movie and I must admit I lost count of the times I watched the trilogy. Even my wife knows it whenever I stick to the TV, it must be a Future movie! But, I dont blame her, instead, I blame the reality of why the DeLorean failed to capture the masses.

By now, the DeLorean should have undergone facelifts a dozen times already but hey, I prefer the DeLorean to be what it was when it first rolled our from Belfast, Ireland circa 1981.

Malaysia car sales up 33 percent in January

Malaysia’s auto sales rose 33 percent year-on-year in January, an industry group said Monday, as improved consumer sentiment helped boost Southeast Asia’s biggest passenger car market.

The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) said sales of new motor vehicles increased to 50,622 units in January, up from 38,107 sold in the same month last year.

5 reasons to get a Suzuki Swift now

This festive season, Suzuki Malaysia is offering a few goodies for carbuyers and if you are thinking of getting a compact small car with all the looks, I recommend you get the Swift. I personally road-tested the car for a couple of days and for such a zippy car like this, the Swift handles really well on tight corners, sticking firmly to the ground.

The 1.5-litre engine is as good as the Honda City or the Toyota Vios but I leave it up to you to feel the Swift yourself.

It is still early in 2010 and many of you might have been tightening belts saving up your hard-earned money to get that sexy Honda Civic, or the elegant Peugeot 308 Turbo, or maybe the zippy Suzuki Swift. Maybe you don’t have a preferred car to buy but then again you will be stormed with choices.

Texting while driving is not a new road killer

Many years ago, Malaysian TVs showed ads on educating its citizens to not drink and drive and since mobile phones came into their lives, texting is now a road killer.

I’d like to share with you statistics from USA on drivers who send SMS while driving on the road.

Stop it or you will kill innocent lives, including those of your loved ones!

Taiwanese recruits, transform and roll out!

For fans of Transformers movies, like yours truly, here is an ad from Taiwan military force in a campaign to recruit its citizens by using a video with the morphing robots in it.

About the robots in the ad, I must say the Taiwanese are quite good in creating their own steel sculptures. The only thing lacked was these robots transformed a tad bit fast. I’m a fetish when robots transform!

List of Toyota recalled models

This news is not hot off the oven but I’m sure many of you wanna find out which Toyota models were affected.

Toyota’s recall of eight car and truck models over potentially sticky gas pedals, which affects 2.3 million cars in United States of America.

Fret not as Toyota cars in Malaysia are not affected in this recall. UMW Toyota made a public statement to all Toyota car owners in Malaysia that the recall is no cause for concern here because most parts and components were sourced from suppliers outside of U.S.

Check NCD online before renewing your car insurance

You can now check your NCD (or NCB) status online with ISM Malaysia! But to some of you unsure of what NCD or NCB is, you will know it when it is time to renew your car insurance. Haha! Since you are already here, might as well I share with you my definition of this three-letter word.

In laymen terms, NCD or No-Claim Discount (NCB – No Claim Bonus) is the allowed discount from the actual rate of car insurance to pay. In other words, it is a discount applied to the premium to pay for buying a car insurance.
