Texting while driving is not a new road killer
Many years ago, Malaysian TVs showed ads on educating its citizens to not drink and drive and since mobile phones came into their lives, texting is now a road killer.
I’d like to share with you statistics from USA on drivers who send SMS while driving on the road.

Stop it or you will kill innocent lives, including those of your loved ones!
Here are the statistics, in this cutesy graphical form:
I’m very certain many of you have texted that urgent message while you were driving or even while waiting at the red lights. It may seem harmless but I believe many of you had close shaves or even escaped death too! Only you will know yourself. I admit I did it but looking at the figures and being the responsible son and husband, I have to think twice before I start hitting the keypads.
This festive season I urge all of you not be part of the statistics. Do make sure you have enough rest before hitting the highways for a long journey back home to your family. I also hope your cars are serviced and if you havent done so, try not to speed too fast and obey the limits. Dont do it just so you can escape the cameras – do it for your loved ones.
