Many of those cars are luxury ones and are highly sought after from overseas market like United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Hong Kong. And because there is a demand from other countries, these car theft syndicates have no fear in stealing our cars and ship it out within hours because tracing a stolen car is almost impossible.
Unless its a petty thief who is a one-man-show, the most he could do it drive it some where, rip out the stereo system and grab the cash and leave it on the roadside to flee.

Too bad, cars like Toyota Hilux and the other pick-up trucks are still in demand. I know they used to target the Hilux many years back but now even the Ford Ranger is not spared. Should I forget about getting the Ranger then?
To me, try to keep your vehicle safe by all means. Use the many types of steering locks, pedal locks, gear locks, tyre locks, immobilizers, two-way car alarm system and be friends with you neighbour and his/her neighbour, both from home and office. You will never feel sorry if all of these measures are taken!
