Naza Kia, the sole distributor for KIA cars in Malaysia has just appointed former Perodua MD, Datuk Syed Abdull Hafiz Syed Abu Bakar as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer.
Datuk Syed Hafiz will be replacing Datuk Syed Hisham Syed Wazir who left to join UMW Holdings Bhd as it’s President and CEO.
This is news to all of us because, as we all are aware, Perodua achieved many successes for the past 5 years thanks to his leadership. Surpassing the number of cars that Proton sold over the past two decades, Perodua’s present day record is testament of Datuk Syed’s outstanding leadership.
The winner of the “Automotive Man of the Year 2009” at the NST/Maybank Car of the Year awards Datuk Syed Hafiz spent 5 years in Perodua. Prior to this, he served in the UMW group in various fields for 10 years.
With this appointment, are we expecting Datuk Syed Hafiz the same, if not better, success in KIA car sales in Malaysia as attained in Perodua? Let the Korean brand unleash it’s wrath!
Anyway, we would like to wish him congratulations and best of luck.

If you guys been around town lately, you may have spotted the 308 VTi looked a bit premium. That’s because the sole distributor for Peugeot cars in Malaysia, Nasim Sdn. Bhd, had rolled out the enhanced hot hatch.
According to my friend, Daniel from DSF.my, he reports that many of the features in the Turbo are available in the new VTi. As one of the lucky few who got to test the new 308 VTi, Daniel quoted that the car now comes enhanced with a better package of both safety and functionality. Being the key person in the game simulator Gran Turismo, he recommends getting a Mazda3 is a good choice. Because he knows the thousands of cars in the game, it’s interesting to know why, of all the cars, he thinks the 3 is worthy.
I would agree with him because of the 3′s modernistic outlook and the technology it brings with it. Many of my friends including my other half thinks the 3 is a looker!

Since it’s maiden entry of the Suzuki Swift on Malaysian soil back in 1991 and a facelift in year 2005, Suzuki deserves all the luck for being persistent.
Malaysian folks are spoilt for sedans like the Corollas and the Accords but it strikes curiosity to me about the Swift’s survival so far.
Suzuki Malaysia Automobile (SMA) thought it was feasible to assemble the Swift and they were right – it was very cost effective to build the car here because of certain incentives by the government. Being cost effective means producing vehicles with lower costs, which in turn puts a cheaper price tag on a supposedly pure Japanese import like the Swift.

In this day of adrenalin rush, we tend to forget (or ignore altogether) how to breathe and how to chew the food in out mouth. Why don’t we invest in a little bit of our time to kick back and chillax if it makes us live longer? It doesn’t need to take hours, how about just 30 minutes of walking?
