It’s a tough decision to choose either the Mitsubishi Lancer or the Proton Inspira coz both are so similar in looks!

But when it comes to pricing, the Inspira seems to be the hands down winner. Starting price for a 1.8l is around RM79,888 and the 2.0l is around RM95,000 for the full spec version. Actual priced will be announced come 10th November 2010.

For the first batch of the Inspira, majority of the parts are from Mitsubishi so I presume the build and parts quality should be top notch and as time goes on, more parts will be localized and sourced from Malaysian suppliers. It’s not that we should not support Malaysian products but most of us would agree that their product quality is a bit questionable.

Well, its a gamble here because many would think the first batch of cars will always have teething problems and therefore the later batches should be resolved hence you wait after 6 months to a year to get the Inspira.

If you are in deep need of a cool and handsome looking car with a very good price, the Proton Inspira would be a promising buy. But if you were a ‘victim’ of Proton cars before, the Mitsubishi Lancer should be worth your wallet.

Be a smart consumer, do your homework and if can, test drive the car first before putting the 10% down. Who said you need to book the car first BEFORE even feeling it on the skin?

After all, both cars can be converted into an Evo X what..
