hi our ad resort is not a wagon type, its a pick-up style with just 2 doors hhmm but the engine is the same,

AMG: There are wagon and pick-up modes of this car. Engines was between 1.5 to 1.6 litres but I know some modders fitted in a 2.0l as well. Too bad the car is not in production. The newer Wingroad rocks my boat though.

I have a 2008, 407. Servicing costs haven't been too bad or at least in line with expectations until recently, when I have suffered a spate of cracked rear alloy rims (@ AUD$850 each). Peugeot Service (HQ) in Australia basically fobbed me off and declared that it was nothing to do with Product Quality and must be due to external factors. The car is used for daily commute on well serviced bitumen roads....clearly that was not envisaged in the car design brief !!!

AMG: Sorry to hear that, Peter. I guess this happens everywhere. There are tons of other issues and it depends on how Peugeot resolves them. Whether it would satisfy the customer or not, Peugeot have to adopt the Japanese way of quality control on continuous improvement be it for their products or service. Cheers, mate.

I’m actually considering to get this car… in terms of looks..it’s fair not terribly desirable but still good to look at. I would want it because of it’s resale value ^_^

AMG: Yeah, most people love this car because of its high resale value. But because of this fact, many drivers are losing out on other non-familiar cars like Ford, Suzuki, Peugeot and Hyundai. Their cars have better engines and all and at the same, if not lower, price with the Vios.

im searching for my 1st car..
im attract with alto..
however, i’ll start to work diz August ..gov service,salary rm 2k+. can i apply for loan using my job offer letter? and how many % interest for diz car? i’ll put d/p rm5+ as needed. n aim for 5-7 yrs for monthly installment.

Andy: I am afraid you cannot apply for the loan with your offer letter. You need to show 3 months proof of your salary only will allow you to apply for the loan. If you want, you can get your dad or mom as a guarrantor to get the loan now. Yes, downpayment is the RM5,000+ (10%) and for 5-years financing is RM789/month while 7 years financing is RM564. If you want, we can arrange a test drive and more details for you.

i am still driving a 1995 ad resort flamingo red since year 2000 mileage now 240000km. engine still tip top condition and very clean as i get the engine washed at each oil change interval.

for parts i have problem searching for power steering pump and power steering rack. no stocks available at nissan motors. luckily found 2nd hand spares from junkyard. for RM30 worths of petrol i can get 170km out of it. i dunno this is fuel efficient or not.

i love the roomy feel of this car. the engine is powerful. the car seems to lurch forward when you floor the pedal. the engine is silent even in fifth gear and doesnt scream even you the speedometer shows 140kmph. travelled from kota kinabalu to kuching with nary a problem and maintenance cost is minimal after all these years.

will continue using this car until parts became difficult to source.

Andy: Wow man, I feel so happy to read your experience with the AD Resort. Yes, I totally agree with every line in it. But about the fuel consumption part, its a bit OK. Try overhauling it and see. But I heard that overhaulin will make your car underpowered – depends on how good the foreman does his job. If you are in Peninsula, try taking it up to Genting Highlands, you will LOVE your Resort even more!! Engine damn smooth and quiet – no sound of straining! I had to sold my Resort because it was aging fast (used to be a salesman) and had to fork out average RM500/month just for maintenance and parts. All the best!!

can i loan this suzuki alto car if my nett salary only rm1.7-1.8k / month? Do i need to find a guarantor for the loan purpose? What is the minimal down payment and how much i have to pay for 7 – 9 years..tqvm

Andy: Hi, you can still finance the loan with your amount of salary. The banks can give you loan if your repayment is 1/3 of your total salary. FOr RM1,800 salary, you have RM600 maximum to pay for the car loan. You dont really need guarantor for this loan as you are already working (more than 3 months got?) You pay around RM565 (7 years) or RM440 (9 years). If you want more details, can SMS to 016-2054088 for an appointment.
